Summary

The Astral Sea, the place between places, the infinite macrocosm within which all realms exist, devoid of all things, yet within containing all things. There is no morality here, not good nor evil, not generosity nor greed. It has been written of those who pierced the veil of our realm to witness such a place. Those witnesses meek are driven to self-termination by the innocent peek. The stronger of these feel what has only been described as a wresting of their mind from their own body. It screams into one's very mind as the indeterminable screeching of silence in room bare of any noise, a tinnitus of the soul.

Piercing the veil of realms is possible by an empowered individual, though doing such is at best considered foolish, and at worst outright suicidal. Those unwise, daring, or insane enough to trifle with the fulminous veil are infinitely more likely to vanish into the variegated pages of history, than they are to ever gain anything from such a foolhardy stunt. It is assumed by many reasonable and well-taught scholars, that every being to attempt to do so, failed to return, and remains there, swallowed by the essence and substance of eternity.

Time does not pass here, there, wherever, whatever, or whenever it might be. It is said to be shaped by the mind's eye, a demiurge of one's own creation. Those cast adrift by a lack of power, or skill, to transit therein are tortured ceaseless by their own ignorant folly. They will not weaken and fade, nor will they gain strength and free themselves. Many know not of their trapped state, only of what the mind below the mind produces to keep them on the razor's edge of sanity. Others break this self-imposed illusion through the power of their will and cling to the screaming hope that....
