“Blessed are they who follow the Dragons' Wisdoms so that their souls may grow with each life and learn with each death.”

Origins[edit]

Despite the imprisonment of the Dragons at the hands of Nevanerro, the Cycle of Souls was not completely interrupted. For three centuries, mortals lived and died and passed on to be reborn again, and in that process did they follow the designs of Rhyst’s Eidolons. This progression is meant to grow new Eidolons over the course of many, many millennia. Though none are in a position to ascend into that sort of state, there are those who the Dragons take personal interest in, those who lived in their previous lives virtuously and benevolently. Those who have achieved a state like this are reborn not upon Rhyst, but upon Sol, the true realm of Zahhak and the red dragon flight.

Within Sol, the Seraphim are born apart from the world of struggle and trial. They are born instead into a realm where they are meant to pass on again and again and again into a better version of themselves, where they know of Rhyst, but not of its pain. That’s not to say Sol is a utopia by any means, but rather that those within it are likely to reincarnate as a Seraphim once they pass away. In this way, the Dragons mark those they have carefully watched throughout the histories, always hoping and considering which ones may achieve an eidolonic ascension in the distant but still approaching future.

With the loss of the Dragons and the retreat of their draconic children toward Sol, the Seraphim have waited and watched Rhyst eagerly for nearly three hundred years. It was the first time a great amount of strife truly spread throughout the realm. Debates were had whether or not they should intervene, especially as the Convergence was not only stalled, but the Void and the Faewild exercised a great amount of influence across the world. Arguments turned into fights, and violence did break out among the ranks of the Seraphim and the lesser dragons.

Souls were lost from the blessed paradise for as they killed and were killed or died with hate and venom in their hearts, they were reborn into Rhyst once again, their only mercy being the fact that they had forgotten what it was they had before.

Abilities and Trivia[edit]

The greatest of the Seraphim take after the Angels of Limbo in appearance, though they are more commonly seen as mortals blessed by the central plane of existence.

While all Four Dragons approved of the people that populate Sol, it is believed that the Seraphim’s blessing was given by Zahhak himself

Seraphim pull on the energies of Limbo to empower their magic. This makes it manifest as something adjacent to holy magic, making them born evokers.

Though they aren't as naturally adept with all forms of magic as Nephilim, the raw mana pulled forth by a Seraphim's holy prowess makes them a remarkably fearsome combatant. Their wills are said to be almost unbreakable, with spirits that adapt to any challenge. Their holy connection means they cannot access sorcerous magics.
