Summary[edit]

When the Emerald Heart was born, born alongside them were their first ten children. Ten souls rose from the City of Angels, and began to move through Rhyst and assist the Isegradian Empire. These ten souls would come to be known as the Empyreal Apocrypha, the strongest known members of the Empyrean race, and the oldest.

The Rumors[edit]

While Empyreans numbered eleven and up had some semblance of free will, the same could not be said for the members of the Apocrypha. Reports were that every single member of the original ten, while lacking the Imperial Indoctrination procedure done upon them, lack free will and instead were each given a directive that they must move towards. As such, the members of the Apocrypha are both counted by their number, as well as their purpose.

The Empyreal Apocrypha is mysterious as their members do not all work within the public eye. Until the turn of the 1010s, the locations of many of the Apocrypha, as well as their directives, were known to only a rare few, as well as their appearances. However, with time and the spread of rumors and information, their purposes have slowly been whispered to the point where extensive study may guide one to finding out what they are.

The Apocrypha[edit]

1. Contain[edit]

Empyrean I, He who contains, has been confirmed to be the identity of Balin Sketch, the Emperor of Isegrad, serving as the head of Elysuim in the Void, after having made a deal with Nevanerro. Not much is known about the now Empyrean Emperor, not even if they fully maintained their memories after the transition to their metal body.

2. Control[edit]

Information on Empyrean II, the Controller, is restricted.

3. Explore[edit]

Information on Empyrean III, the Explorer, is restricted.

4. Obtain[edit]

Empyrean IV, the Obtainer, is the Empyrean accredited with the recognition of the Umbra, and extending Imperial aid to Kal Azul prior to 1016. Many believe that the Obtainer was sent to Kal Azul to obtain Orichalcum for the Sarean expeditions, among other materials, however, after arranging these trade deals for the Empire, the Obtainer set up their ship to go search the Edge of the world. As for 1040, further information on the Obtainer’s travels have not been found.

5. Expand[edit]

Empyrean V, the Expansionist, is the Empyrean who came to replace the Obtainer’s post in Kal Azul in 1016, serving as the Imperial liaison to the nation and assisting in the battles against the void. As for 1040 no major developments involving the Expansionist have been noted.

6. Protect[edit]

Empyrean VI, the Protector, is a figure that is not well reported on. What is known is that the Protector was active during the People's Militant uprising of 1009 to 1016, and was instrumental in preventing the hostile forces from gaining traction and entering into the capital. As of 1040, information regarding Empyrean VI after the rebellion has not been obtained.

7. Progress[edit]

Empyrean VII, also known as the High Inquisitor of Isegrád, is a storied Empyrean of rumor. They are said to be the right hand of High Magister Quaris Sketch, however there exists almost no information covering what he is responsible for that can be obtained from public files.

They are supposedly incapable of being hit by magical blows, proving completely immune to mana-reinforced strikes and spells in general. Their presence on the battlefield, however, is a rarity, and information on such occurrences only comes from rumors of returning Isegrádian forces.

8. Multiply[edit]

Information on Empyrean VII, the Multiplier, is restricted.

9. Execute[edit]

Information on Empyrean IX, the Executer, is restricted.

10. Overcome[edit]

Information on Empyrean X, That which Overcomes, is restricted.

Trivia[edit]

It is said that this name was originally coined by an Empyrean Harbinger.
