Introduction[edit]
The year 1009 was a year of crisis, fear, and strife. In the Imperial capital of Isegrad, preparations for the Convergence were being made, including the locking down of the capital from the outside world. It is in this circumstance, where people feared the end of the world as they knew it, that the People’s Militant, a rebellious organization seeking to enter Isegrad proper to seek the safety within, was formed.
This Rebellion would go on to adopt the ideal of overthrowing the Nobility, however in the year 1016, would be disbanded, with its leader, Orsino Lathe, marrying the Empress Maia Sketch, and becoming the High Consort.
History[edit]
Like the initial rebellion of Grand Boshnovia before it, the People’s Militant would be considered a rather quick affair, officially lasting seven years, although it is stated that talks of its end may have started all the way from the year 1014. The People’s Militant had a simple and calm enough start, with the initial wave of members being due to the shut down of roads and trading routes prior to the Convergence, and those outside of the capital of Isegrad seeking to enter its walls in hopes of being safe from the crisis. Their numbers, however, were bolstered over time as their rhetoric changed, Orsino Lathe beginning to speak and preach of overthrowing the nobility that had closed said trade routes, and restricted the people outside of the capital from entry.
But their victory was not to be. As the Rebellion continued to gain more and more members, they were met with more and more resistance. High Inquisitor VII, in charge of the capital city’s defense from the Rebellion, would be joined by Empyrean VI, and the forces under their command would keep the People’s Militant from breaching the city proper, though the Militant would manage to get as far as the streets outside the capital. It is in this state of constant battles, and lack of progress, that communication between High Inquisitor VII and Orsino Lathe began.
The result of these talks was the end of the rebellion, Orsino Lathe accepting the title of High Consort and a marriage to Maia sketch, and the ultimate dissolution of the People’s Militant. Some left the streets outside of the Capital with excitement and hope of change due to Orsino’s new position. Others were not as hopeful, their desires for the nobility to end, crushed. Those that lingered were imprisoned and routed.
Trivia[edit]
The defeat of the People’s Militant and the Emerald Heart being revealed to the world were stated to have jointly caused a resurgence of Balinism in 1016, due to the display of power by the Sketch dynasty.
A large portion of the People’s Militant was speculated to have been made up of Wildkin.
Not much information about Orsino Lathe, the leader of the People’s Militant, is known, though speculation exists that he may have had a child prior to the marriage to the Empress. There’s been no confirmation to the validity of this rumor.
