Relkath

"Behold the wrath of the Blood God."

Epithet: the Bloodspiller[edit]

Introduction[edit]

Few greet Oberon as an outsider and live to tell their tale. Notoriously proud of his pureblooded High Faerlan, the kingdoms of the Lord of the Faewild are infamous for executing their invaders outright, rarely- if ever- taking prisoners of war. Yet long ago, in an age before that of Mankind and its derivatives, and in a world far beyond our own, Oberon did indeed take a single survivor... And what a survivor it was.

Background[edit]

Of the Eidolons of the Faewild and Void, most bear many subordinates. Vul’Karik took on several Generals upon which his various powers were bestowed, while Oberon himself matched these many years prior. Even Titania and Paschia Fel, despite being ultimately less fixated on war than their siblings, bear numerous powerful Generals of great worth and potency.

Yet the Unseelie- one of the two Eidolons of the Faewild now presumed dead- is known to only have had two. One, whom deemed themselves the Bloodspiller, was revered as perhaps the most frightening creature in all worlds not of the Eidolons' tier themselves... For, you see, this General of the Unseelie was gifted with their unrelenting bloodlust.

In a wartorn plane, Relkath saw unimaginable growth. His power knew few bounds, culling armies with a swipe and felling even other Generals as if they were little more than underclassed playmates. Even in battles against Oberon's legions, Relkath became well-known as a one-man weapon of mass destruction. The longer the fight, the stronger he'd become.

It was this trait that compelled Oberon to desire him. The ultimate soldier, beyond his own men and Generals by an unreasonable degree. Hundreds of years of war followed, wherein Oberon himself stepped foot upon the battlefield time and time again to contend with the bloodcrazed Relkath. Of the stories that still remain, all reach consensus on a single fact:

Their duels were legendary, fueled by Oberon's unwillingness to fell the beast for good and Relkath's relentless desire to taste the spilled ichor of a "true" god.

In their final battle, Relkath made a misstep. He lunged at an open wound to achieve that selfsame goal- to taste said ichor- but left himself critically undefended in the process. It is said that Relkath obtained a single drop of his blood while Oberon, in that instant, pacted him eternally, forging an undying bond that'd establish him as his mightiest warrior for all of time.

Since then, Relkath has become an infrequently spoken-of icon of Fae dominance over their controlled lands. It was only days until the Unseelie's kingdoms fell at the behest of a united Relkath and Oberon. Days further until Oberon's stranglehold on his plane was established.

Trivia[edit]

Considers Oberon a "true god", now believing him to have obtained control of the Faewild by birthright.

Relkath, for thousands of years, has been singularly charged with battling the Void. It's only recently that some believe he has been refocused onto Rhyst...

He is notoriously, among those of the other planes, an eternal rival of Mavkoda, Vul'karik's Aspect of Vengeance.

It's possible Relkath looked different at some point. Since his servitude began, however, he's been warped into the silhouette of a High Faerlan.
